Senator Edward Kennedy Has Cancer

Now matter what your political affiliation you must have been shocked at todays news that Senator Edward Kennedy has cancer. "Preliminary results from a biopsy of the brain identified the cause of the seizure as a malignant glioma", per yahoo news.

Cancer has been in the news many times the last few weeks affecting people in government, movies, music and sports. Though I want cancer to be in the headlines this is certainly NOT what I want to see. I want to see how we are making strides to have better prevention and find cures.

I wish Senator Kennedy and his family the best during this difficult time.

LIVESTRONG!

NOTE:
"Malignant gliomas are a type of brain cancer diagnosed in about 9,000 Americans a year — and the most common type among adults. It's an initial diagnosis: How well patients fare depends on what specific tumor type is determined by further testing. Average survival can range from less than a year for very advanced and aggressive types — such as glioblastomas — or to about five years for different types that are slower growing."
