Golf Trip to Myrtle Beach, SC

I remember making the decision to go to Myrtle Beach on my ride back from the Cancer institute of NJ with Kristy in January. I still remember booking the trip and purchasing the insurance as I was not sure if I would be able to go if I had cancer again. I guess booking this trip was my own way to be positive, and show everyone I was confident I was going to be OK. As it turned out I was right!

It was a great time. There were 12 of us who went and all of them were great guys. Specifically I want to point out I got to time with two of my oldest friends Tim, Kevin Jr. and Kevin Sr. the Scannell's. I have known them for 23 years. Certainly back then I had no clue I would have life long friends. It was great to get away and see them for more then a few hours at a time. I only wish John could have made it to get all the boys together.

All of us enjoyed the trip. We played a 5 golf courses and we liked all of them. I would highly recommend World Tour as it has replica holes for some very famous golf courses like #17 TPC Sawgrass, #1 & 18 St. Andrews, #11, 12 & 13 Augusta's Amen Corner and much more. We really felt like we were playing the real course on these holes. Arrowhead was the best maintained course and provided many challenges. Farmstead had a 687 yard par 6 hole and half the course was in South Carolina and the other half in North Carolina.

We spent a lot of time golfing, having a few beers and catching up with each other. It was the typical golf trip for guys. I lived it up all week! I am glad I decided to go on and it definitely recharged my batteries.

There is nothing like coming home to Kristy, Caroline and Annabelle. Kristy met me at the car, Caroline was jumping up and down and Annabelle was surprised to see me. Funny how it looks like Caroline and Annabelle got bigger. I missed all three very much! Kristy kept me updated via my blackberry so it was not too bad.

While I was away a few people joined Team Down One and I have many more lined up. Today I just hit $10,000 raised (look to the right.) Can you believe it! I have a lot of work ahead of me to reach $20,000 and I am ready for the challenges.

LIVESTRONG!
