I was reading the
LIVESTRONG Blog this morning and saw the new data available from the
National Cancer Institute (NCI) on the number of cancer survivors in the USA. I had to take a double take. 11.9 million! Over the last year and a half I have been stating over 10 million, but I was not ready to see near 12 million.

There was other interesting data in the report which shows 1998-2007 the estimate number of new cancer cases.
These are numbers all of us must take seriously. This is the year we can collectively make a monumental difference. Imagine what the election will be like if all 11.9 million of us vote and also get a few other people to do the same.
This is the year we can put the fight against cancer on the map.
