In October 2006, I attended the LIVESTRONG Summit and had the honor of serving as a delegate with 700+ survivors and caregivers. I was lucky enough to make some great friends which I stay in contact with. One of them is Dorinda "Dee" Sparacio. She has been doing some great things since the summit.
Dee is a member of the Gynecological Networking Group at Central NJ -Wellness Community for the last two years. Last year she participated in the LIVESTRONG Challenge. She is also one of the newest Board Members of the Kaleidoscope of Hope Foundation. At the end of December 2007 Dee started her own blog Women of Teal. In July, Dee will be attending the 2008 LIVESTRONG Summit. Dee has been busy giving back and making a difference.
Well, she received some great news this week. On June 1, 2008 National Cancer Survivors Day the Central NJ - Wellness Community will honor Dee with the "Spirit of Courage Award." There is no one more deserving of this award then Dee.
Congratulations Dee! Thank you for all that you do for cancer survivors and caregivers!
